I just wanted to take this opportunity today to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the book so far, and the CWC in general. I wish there was a bigger word or more expressive phrase than thank you that I could say, as it doesn’t seem to express my gratitude just quite enough!
The book launch last Friday night was so much fun and I’m so happy so many of you made it along, met and chatted with each other, entered the raffle, bought the book, and enjoyed yourselves.
Pre-ordered books have now all been posted (but if you haven’t received yours, please email me and I’ll try to sort that situation out pronto!). If you have ordered since then, please allow a week or so for delivery. I wrap & post books daily so it will be on its way.
Of course there are many upcoming markets as well as stockists where you can find the book. Thanks to all the generous makers who have taken some books to stock at their stalls, and for the lovely retailers who approached me to stock the books directly.
And BLOGGERS! OMG I have not even started a proper ‘marketing’ campaign as yet and all sales thus far have been through word of mouth, the people who spruik the CWC via their blogs and other social networks. Thank you! I’ve loved reading your posts and the nice words you have to say about the book, or indeed about any event that you may have attended this year. And in case you missed it, you can read one such blog post about producing the book Conversations with Creative Women and other CWC/Melbourne-y stuff that I do and like over at The Design Files today.
To the interstate peeps who have taken the time to email me about interstate events… thank you for letting me know that you are interested, I’m working on it! Obviously there are logistics to be dealt with, but be assured it is on my radar to do something interstate next year.
So, onward and upward to 2012, yes? I’m really looking forward to sharing with you some of the plans I have for the website and speakers I have for the events next year. Soon, soon…
P.S. If anyone has any particular questions regarding self-publishing a book, I’m thinking of putting together a post about my experience soon. Ask away!
