What is your professional or training background?
I'm a self taught artist with a background in graphic design and publishing.

What do you make, create or do?
I paint, draw, collage and make digital prints. I work on paper and wood with a range of paint mediums {acrylic, gouache and watercolour} and hand stitching. I like to make things which are a combination of art and craft ~ most recently I've been making paper garlands from recycling digital print proofs.

I also love knitting and crochet.

What other creative areas would you like to explore as a side-project to your current work, or move into full-time?
I've just started making digital patterns for fabric and would love to learn more about fabric and surface design as well as screenprinting. I'd also like to explore options for collaborative projects.

What skills do you have that help you run your business, or what skills would you like to develop?
My graphic design skills have come in handy for packaging and promotional materials. I'd really like to develop skills for running the business side of things. Marketing doesn't come naturally to me!

List five people, businesses or websites/blogs that keep you motivated and inspired, and why?
Design for mankind design*spongeLittle Paper PlanesPoppytalk and Bloesem are always inspiring and feature great contemporary artists. I also follow a sea of blogs by individual artists, designers and makers. I enjoy the connections and inspiration in the blogging community.
