Tonight and tomorrow night from 4-9pm the famous Nicholas Building opens up its doors and invites you to engage with the many talented residents (including CWCers Vikki KassiorisRhiannon Smith, Orchis Morio, Amina McPhee and Jessica Singh!).

Every year, Craft Victoria host a day-long professional development seminar called Craft & Design as a Career, inviting half a dozen speakers to talk all things craft-as-business: social media, accounting, outsourcing, marketing, and more. This year they’ve done a very smart thing and are hosting two separate workshop days targeting makers at different stages of their careers. The Emerging workshop aims to give you a head start in your career by offering you expert opinion in the areas of promotion, sales, business nous and funding; while the Established workshop is aimed at practitioners who have made a good start on their craft and design careers, but are now looking for that edge when it comes to marketing, commercial opportunities, commissions and expanding offshore. Go to one, or go to both! Speakers include Meet Me At Mike’s Pip Lincolne, Jeweller Tessa Blazey, stylist Ruth Welsby, Nancybird’s Emily Wright and Michi Girl‘s Justine Ellis.

Michelle at Sow ‘n’ Sow has been busy planting up a storm for brisbane’s Regional flavours festival… check out her beautiful living handiwork here.
