The Design Files Open House opens today! I went along this morning and it is AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. It is truly thedesignfiles.net in 3D form... a home (that you can tour), filled with beautiful Australian design products (many of which you've probably never seen before, such is there cutting-edge-ness). There aren't people being interviewed in the house, but you could strike up a conversation with the person next to you and they would probably be totally awesome! So, hurry along (it's only open until 5pm this Sunday), buy things (incl the book!), support the local design industry and the lady who gives us all so much design goodness every day, Lucy (and her be-spotted team). THEN - go to the Melbourne Design Market at Fed Square this weekend! OR - if you are in Sydney, The Finders Keepers summer market is also on this weekend, with lots of Melbourne peeps heading up to exhibit.

If you're thinking you'd like to jump on the pop-up/short-term-space action in the lead up to Christmas, there is a great new space in Brunswick East, located close to CERES which is vacant until early next year. This blog has pictures and details of the space or you can contact Lindsay on 0416 386 269 for more information.

If you're a fashion designer in the City of Moreland area, you might be interested in Collection 3056.  Collection 3056 will be Brunswick's inaugural fashion event and will take place in September 2012. Local designer and business owner, Anna Cat (Rred designs) and stylist Bianca Christoff (Project Runway, Offspring) are founders of the Collection 3056 and are now inviting fashion designers to apply to take part in Collection 3056. More details can be found here. Applications close 16 December.

Emerging artist Nicole Tattersall has released a limited edition calendar for 2012. It is A5 in size, printed on 250gsm FSC Certified, made with Elemental Chlorine Free pulps (ECF), ISO 14001 Environmental Management System stock and features a selection of Nicole's artworks. You can buy the calendar here or visit her blog for local stockists.

And finally, the perfect gift for the green thumbs in your life, seeds from Sow 'n' Sow. Michelle is offering free shipping with all Australian orders leading up to Christmas. Nice!
