HUNTERhunter started as a casual conversation between workmates Alissa McCulloch and Fiona Gray, who both agreed that Newcastle deserved a website that celebrated life in this great city and its surrounds – somewhere for locals to read about the latest places to eat, drink and shop.

It needed to be easy to use, look smart, and reflect the change that Newcastle’s been undergoing for some time now. The idea started small, with talk of setting up a Facebook page, which then grew to a blog, and finally resolved itself to become a full-blown website.

The name was decided on, local agency Headjam was brought on board to put their vision to screen, and on September 26, 2013, HUNTERhunter went live!

While the site may read like a never-ending list of long lunches, cappuccinos and fancy dinners out, truth be told it’s actually a lot of hard work. Like most small businesses, HUNTERhunter comes together thanks to plenty of late nights, early starts, and working weekends.

So, why do Alissa and Fiona keep on writing about our beloved Newcastle and the wider Hunter region? Come along and find out for yourself!

Date/time: Tuesday 28 July 2015, 5.30pm for 6pm
Melisah May Art Studio, Level 1, 151 Hunter Street, Newcastle, NSW
