Support Team Sonny and SIDS & Kids Victoria

Former CWC speaker Stephanie Carello and her husband Gian are currently raising funds for SIDS & Kids Victoria, through their participation in The Age Run Melbourne.

Sadly, earlier this year Stephanie and Gian’s son, Sonny, passed away in utero at 39.5 weeks. Unfortunately there is no determined cause as to why his heart stopped beating. SIDS & Kids Victoria have given the Carello’s much needed support from day one, and they continue to help them get through this very difficult time.

Each year over 4,300 babies and children die suddenly and unexpectedly from sudden infant death syndrome, stillbirth, fatal sleeping accidents and accidental death. Over 50% of these deaths still have no known cause. SIDS & Kids Victoria works to change all this through the provision of education, bereavement support services and funding vital research into stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome and safe sleeping practices. With 1% funding from the government, which equates to only $18,000 per year, SIDS & Kids Victoria relies heavily on donations from within our community.

The Creative Women’s Circle, through ticket sales from our upcoming event, are happy to help ‘Team Sonny’ reach its fundraising goal of $5,000.

If you would like to make a personal donation to Stephanie and her team, please visit the Team Sonny Everyday Hero.
