Hey everyone. Are you looking forward to the book launch? I am. There will be drinks, nibbles, music, creative ladies and of course the book, ready to buy!
BUT to make it even better we're going to have a Christmas raffle at the launch! I've asked a few of my favourite creative businesses to select their favourite products from their range/s, and together it adds up to a bundle of awesome that someone on the night will take home to enjoy.
Here's who will be 'in the hamper':
Not only do we get to hang at their awesome studio space for the evening, but Harvest are donating an item from their current range to the raffle prize. Harvest use organic, recycled or locally produced fabrics where possible to reduce the impact on the environment as well as ensuring products are made in an ethical manner - and knowing they are hand screen-printed by Lara, Emma and Jess themselves make them very special pieces indeed.
Jane Hall has burst onto the local design scene this year with her colourful range of limited edition cushion, pillowcase, tea towel and linen designs under her label Salvation Jane Home. The lovely Jane has kindly donated her popular 'Heart' scatter cushion (pictured above) to the raffle prize, which is printed in Melbourne on a crisp white linen and will 'save' any tired-looking chair or couch!
There is really only one place to go for all your uber chic stationery needs and that is NoteMaker.com.au. They source the nicest diaries, journals, fine paper and accessories from all over the world and post them to you with cheer! NoteMaker (who also gave away an awesome Rhodia prize pack at our 2009 Xmas party) are donating a couple of excellent items to the raffle (including MMMG notebooks and a tote bag!) and we love having their support once again!
After the birth of her twin boys, Li-Ann Scott decided to put her architecture career on hold and embark on the wonderful journey of ‘mumpreneurial-hood’ sharing her love for design and stationery. In 2010 she launched Ham & Pea with a range of whimsical and warm greeting cards, which have attracted a great response from print & online publications such as Sydney Morning Herald, Masterchef Magazine, The Design Files, Paper Runway, Magnolia Square, Babyology, Fashion Rebel and Young Republic. Li-Ann is including a selection of her favourite cards in the raffle prize.
Those of you who attended our September event at Frankie & Swiss will know that this new business is very exciting! Run by sisters Michelle & Jacqui, Frankie & Swiss not only digitally print full colour designs onto eco-friendly textiles right there in the studio, but collaborate with designers to create limited edition home wares and accessory products. For the raffle prize, Frankie & Swiss are custom-printing three tea towels featuring the artwork of Mondocherry. So, you'll probably be the only person to own such an item. How special is that!?
