Weekly round-up: interesting finds from around the web this week

Applications for the Gertrude Street Projection Festival 2012 are now open (image above from The Gertrude Foundation website).

Want some new reads in your blogroll? This list of Top Australian Women Bloggers might be a good starting point! (via @theblogstylist).

There's been lots of online talk this week about Australia's new National Cultural Policy... here's a rundown of what it is all about from Pip at Meet Me At Mikes, and here is the ABC Artscape forum she refers to, watchable online.

October is Buy Nothing New month, did you know? The campaign encourages you to get to your local op shop and see what they have to offer in the way of things you would normally buy new (clothes, home wares, furniture etc). You could even win 5 large!

Interiors Addict is a blog I've only recently found, but despite being less than a year old it has already amassed a great collection of interview articles with some of Australia's leading interior designers, including Sibella Court, Anna Spiro and Shaynna Blaze.

What's your view on working from home? If you don't, what do you think of when people say they do? From the Age this week.

Craft Australia is interested to know how you are tackling sustainability in your practice. If you would like to contribute ideas or have an experience you would like to share on the Craft Australia blogcontact the blog editor. Or, you can read about how textile designer Rachel Bending of Bird Textiles, or visual artists Liz Stops and Melissa Cameron tackle sustainability in their work.

Finally, pre-orders for Conversations with Creative Women will be online for the next two weeks. BUT there are less than 10 tickets still available for our final CWC of the year on Sunday Nov 6 - if you're hoping to come along, don't delay!
    See you next week :)
