Weekly round-up: interesting finds from around the web this week

Ooh, the new retail store from the folks behind Pieces of Eight, ‘EditionX‘ is about to open… sign up for updates here. (Image above from their website)

Melbourne-based film maker Sarah Watt has an exhibition of photographs entitled 3012–2012 at Post Industrial Design until November 13th. From the website, “3012–2012 draws an emotional connectedness to the suburban landscape through rendered photography as Sarah Watt explores her relationship with the local neighborhood in West Footscray.” Gallery hours are Tues–Saturday 10am to 5.30pm, Sundays 12 to 5pm.

The Melbourne Writers Festival is looking for a new Program Manager (and also, expressions of interest in interning and volunteering).

Here’s a social networking pet peeve of Emma Isaacs (of Business Chicks) that I wholeheartedly agree with!

Lady Melbourne, a.k.a Phoebe Montague (who celebrated a blog milestone this week with her 1000th post) has posted some of the points she made at her recent Problogger Training Day session ‘How to monetise your blog with advertising’.

Unhappy Hipsters is my regular go-to website for a mid-afternoon chuckle… so I was delighted this week to read this back story on the two ladies who started the popular tumblr blog.
