Weekly round-up: interesting finds from around the web this week

Wow, check out this video about letterpress printing (can I hear a 'they don't make machines like they used to'?). It's Aim True { Letterpress with The Hungry Workshop } (found via DesignWorkLife).

Have you been keeping up with the latest big-store-copying-independent-designer saga? Here's an interesting counter argument via the team at Regretsy (via @missbettyjo)

And speaking of copycats, here's some sage advice (via @jen_henderson)

Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House are running a series of workshops over 6 Saturdays in July / August for emerging craft makers interested in starting up their own small craft business. Participants will examine how to run a craft business, turning ideas into products, product development, selling at markets, retailers and online sales, networking, marketing, blogs, small business basics inc. book keeping basics. Participants will be given the opportunity to have a free stall at the Made'n'Thornbury Craft Market. Contact trisha@twnh.vic.edu.au with enquiries.

The Melbourne Design Market is also slated for July 24th and applications are now open via their website - you have until next Wednesday to apply.

Every wondered why overseas magazines arrive late and are expensive? Magnation explains (hint: Australia is small and very far away).
Haven't read Tina Fey's book yet? Here's an hilarious excerpt.
There was a great piece on ABC's Art Nation on the Australian Tapestry Workshop this week (it's now on iView for a short time). What a work space!

    Have a great weekend, everyone!
