The vibrancy and energy of the Melbourne International Film Festival, and the spirit it has brought to Melbourne’s cultural landscape can be seen reflected in the graphic art surrounding the festival. MIFF 60: The Graphic Art of The Melbourne International Film Festival , an exhibition of posters and flyers from the last 60 years of MIFF, is on now until 8 August at ACMI (Federation Square). Curated by Kate Callingham (MIFF) and Ulanda Blair (ACMI Coordinating Curator).
Twitter is a great place for sharing links to interesting articles found online (in a few weeks I’ll be posting a beginngers guide to Twitter, which should encourage you to get into it if you’re not already!). Two I found interesting this week include How to get your indie business noticed (via @FisforFabric) and The reality of blogging while working a full-time job (via @busichic).
The Reed Gift Fair is coming to Melbourne early August, and they have a bunch of great seminars running, including ‘Build Your Brand, Build Your Business’, ‘Visual Merchandising’ and the intriguingly-titled ’60 Minute MBA for Retail (not for the faint hearted)’. All seminars are to be held at Melbourne Showgrounds in the Port Phillip Room, go here to reserve your place.
GOOD Design collects together 25 female designers and illustrators they love (but thankfully they admit there are more).
