Weekly round-up: interesting finds from around the web

Image: Lena Corwin photographed for The Makers by Jennifer Causey

Yes, it's Monday, and I probably should have posted this on Friday. But sometimes freelancers and self-employed creatives need to take holidays or mini-breaks... which is exactly what I did this past weekend. It's important to prioritise those types of getaways I think. But perhaps that is a post for another time...

Blogging is a big part of a lot of creative's marketing strategy... or it might even be the thing that you 'do'! The Blog Stylist has a new feature called 'Ask the experts' with lots of juicy blog-writing tips.

Here's an amusing but useful post that I found via twitter... "10 most overused words on craft blogs". Time to exercise that thesaurus and start describing your products in ways that differentiate you from similar makers.

NSW-based graphic designer Astrid Wehling is interviewed on the Australian Graphic Design Association's website this week... I like that AGDA are reaching out to their member base for interviews, rather than just high-profile national or international designers. Everyone has advice to offer others in their field.

Lastly, who doesn't love a stickybeak into other creative's studios? The Makers is a beautiful photo project by Jennifer Causey.

    1. Astrid says:

      Hi there

Thanks for picking up my AGDA interview.
It was indeed a very inspiring and interesting series, I myself also love to see how other 'not-yet-famous' designers are working and thinking.
I hope there's more to come in the future.

      All the best,
